About

Canvas Galore is a small canvas printing and framing studio in Goodwood, Cape Town. We've been turning South African photos into wall art since 2023 — 1,000+ walls and counting.

Why we started

Every printer in the country was good at printing. Almost none of them were good at the rest — the picking, the stretching, the framing, the bit where someone actually checks whether your favourite holiday photo is sharp enough before sending it to a press.

So we built a small studio that does the rest properly. One that uses a solid backboard on every frame (most don't). One that opens every image at full resolution and tells you when something won't print well — before you've paid for it, not after.

What you get from us

• 240gsm semi-gloss canvas, printed at high resolution on archival inks.
• Solid pine stretcher bars with corner wedges so your canvas stays taut for years.
• A solid backboard on every single frame. This is the cost most printers cut. We don't — it's the difference between a canvas that holds its shape forever and one that warps in winter.
• Hand-stretched in Goodwood by a small team. Each frame goes through human hands at least three times before it leaves us.
• A pre-print photo check — every order, no exceptions. If your image is too low-res for the size you've chosen, we'll WhatsApp you and help you pick a better one. We will not print something we know you'll be disappointed in.

Slim or Classic — choosing your frame depth

Same canvas, same print, same backboard. The only difference is how far the frame sits off the wall.

• Slim (12mm) — sleek and modern. Floats neatly off the wall. Best for gallery walls, hallways and minimalist spaces. From R150 per canvas.
• Classic (19mm) — bold and deep. The 'proper canvas' look with real wall presence. From R200 per canvas.

How it works

1. Pick a combo or a single canvas. Sets are our specialty.
2. Upload your photos right on the product page — the cropper lets you choose portrait or landscape per canvas, and locks the crop to the print proportions so what you see is what you get.
3. We check every photo within the working day. If anything's off, we message you on WhatsApp.
4. We print and stretch (2 working days standard, or 1 day with the Urgent option).
5. The Courier Guy delivers nationwide — R150 flat, free over R2,499. Most orders arrive 2–5 working days after dispatch.

Our promise

If we made a mistake — wrong print, bad stretch, frame issue — we redo it at no cost, no questions. If you approved a print after we flagged it as low-res, the result is on you. Otherwise, 100% on us.
